Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Friday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif asking him to investigate the tragic incident at Gadani Ship-breaking Yard wherein 26 workers lost their lives. According to the letter, "The tragic incident on November 1, 2016 at Gadani Ship-Breaking Yard wherein around 26 workers lost their lives, numerous sustained serious injuries and many workers are still missing is one of the biggest incidents of its kind."
The letter further states, "The matter needs to be investigated thoroughly and strict action must be taken against the people responsible for this incident. The government should announce compensatory package for the affectees of this incident as announced for the affectees of the recent railway incident at Karachi. "I shall be grateful for your personal consideration in this case on humanitarian grounds."
