ANF seizes drugs worth Rs 7.6 billion, arrests 19

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Wednesday claimed to have seized 1.4 tons drugs including heroin, hashish and opium worth Rs 7.6 billion in the international market. An ANF official said the ANF team conducted 19 operations in the various areas of country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Karachi, Qilla Abdulla and Peshawar.
"Out of 1.4 tons seized drugs, 1.359 tons is heroin, 42.6kg hashish and 7kg opium", he said, adding that the narcotics force also arrested 19 alleged drug traffickers including two female", he added. According to detail, ANF Quetta recovered 1345kg heroin from general area Killi Kalan, Tehsil Chaman, District Qilla Abdullah. The drug consignment was placed in an abandoned area of Killi Kalan for handing over to some other narcotics gang and was intended to be shifted to some safe location. The ANF force arrested a driver of the vehicle namely Abbas Khan, a resident of Attock on the spot, he said.
In an another raid, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Camry Car bearing registration number VU-528 at Koh-i-Noor Mills Bus Stop, Rawalpindi and recovered 5kg heroin concealed in the vehicle and arrested two persons namely Shah Hussain and Khayal Muhammad.
ANF Rawalpindi during another operation arrested two persons identified as Noroz Khan, a resident of Khyber Agency and Syed Qasim Ali, a resident of Islamabad at Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road Attock and recovered 4kg hashish and 1kg opium from their possession.
He said that ANF Rawalpindi apprehended two accused namely Sohail Khan, residents of Charsadda and Shah Jehan and recovered 4kg hashish from their possession.
ANF team also arrested Muhammad Abdullah and a woman accomplice Zubaida Bibi and recovered 4kg hashish from their possession. The anti-narcotics force arrested an accused namely Nisar Ahmed and recovered 4kg opium from his possession. ANF Rawalpindi arrested two accused namely Muhammad Gul and recovered 3kg Hashish from their possession. Similarly, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused namely Muhammad Zawar while he was riding on a motorcycle No RIM-1927 and recovered 3kg hashish from his possession of the accused.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused namely Qasim Gul and recovered 1kg hashish from his possession. During another operation, ANF team in Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Pickup No ADA-538 at Tarnol Bus Stop, Main GT Road, Islamabad and arrested its driver namely Muhammad Ilyas resulted in recovery of 500 gram Hashish.
ANF Lahore intercepted a Suzuki Mehran car No MNN-2443 at Thokar Niaz Baig Bus Stop, Multan Road, Lahore and recovered 8kg heroin concealed inside the vehicle. Two persons namely Waleed Bangash and Muhammad Bilal have also been arrested at the spot. An anther raid, ANF Lahore arrested two accused namely Imran Raza and Muhammad Umar and recovered 2.4kg Hashish from his possession. ANF Lahore arrested an accused namely Noor Jan and recovered 2kg Opium from his possession. ANF Lahore arrested an accused namely Syed Adil and recovered 700 Grams Hashish from his possession.
ANF Peshawar arrested an accused identified as Hazrat Ullah and his lady accomplice Saeeda while they were travelling in a Toyota Hiace (passenger vehicle) and recovered 2kg hashish from their possession.
ANF Peshawar also arrested two persons namely Zeeshan and Akbar Ali and recovered 1.1kg Heroin from possession of the accused. ANF Karachi conducted a raid at Railway Crossing, Pakola Factory, Site area, Hyderabad and recovered 4kg hashish. ANF Karachi conducted a raid at a Narcotics Den of notorious drug seller Laal Zada at Dadex Chadar Factory, Pahtoon Abad, Manghopir Road, Karachi and arrested three accused namely Rehman Zada, Shahzad and Zakir Ullah all residents of West Karachi. During the operation, ANF recovered 4kg Hashish from possession of the arrested accused.
