US backs freedom of expression, right to protest

The United States on Wednesday said it supports freedom of expression and the right to protest in Pakistan. Speaking at daily news briefing, the State Department spokesman John Kirby said that the US was aware of reports about protest activity in Pakistan, adding, "Those are questions that are better answered by Pakistani authorities."
