ISLAMABAD: Around 700 families of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), gone back to their homes from Nakai camp of Mohmand Agency, have expressed pleasure over their return.

The process of repatriation is in progress as around 1174 families will go back till by Friday and the number of IDPs families will decline to 2713 in the camp, concerned authorities told media.

A private radio while quoting Political Agent of Mohmand Agency, Amjad Ali Khan on Thursday said the remaining displaced people will also be sent back to their respective homes soon.

"IDPs of Dalazai will be sent back whose numbers are at least 12000 individuals. Dalazai is completely cleared and we are waiting only for the return of the residents of Sagai," he said.

He said Taliban commander Barkat has also surrendered to the government and added all IDPs of Ambar have reached their homes.

The IDPs, who returned to their homes have asked the authorities to provide basic needs of life to them and ensure educational facilities upon their return in Mohmand Agency.

"We want schools and infrastructure including roads and bridges. The authorities should build schools, colleges and other educational institutions," an IDP said.

Those who are waiting for their return also said that repatriation is very necessary because they are facing some problems and added camp is not alternative to homes.

A member of Local Peace Committee, Malik Saleem Khan said, "Peace has been restored and militants have been eliminated in the area. We will support government in future because they provide us security. However, we want schools and educational institutions."

In response to the people's demands, Political Agent said development work has been divided in three phases.

In first phase provision of schools and basic health units, in second phase communication sector and in third phase administration offices etc. would be set-up in the area.
