KIRKUK: Gun and bomb attacks in Iraq's multi-ethnic northern oil province of Kirkuk killed four people, including two policemen, on Wednesday, security officials said.
In Kirkuk city, gunmen killed two brothers, both policemen, security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The pair were part of the Facilities Protection Service, which is responsible for security at key government installations and buildings.
On the main highway connecting Kirkuk to Baghdad, a civilian was killed and his wife wounded in a shooting, the officials said.
And in the town of Tuz Khurmatu, on the border between Kirkuk and Salaheddin provinces, a magnetic "sticky bomb" attached to the car of a Sunni militiaman killed the fighter, the officials said.
Kirkuk is at the heart of a tract of disputed territory that Kurdish leaders want to incorporate in their autonomous region in the north despite the opposition of many Arab and Turkmen residents, as well as Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
