ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday approved the request of Government of Punjab for the withdrawal of nomination of Syed Farrukh Ali Shah as member (Punjab) National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
Syed Farrukh Ali Shah's nomination was approved after repeated recommendation of the Punjab government, a Prime Minister House statement said.
However, following the recommendation, a number of media articles appeared criticizing the appointment of Syed Farrukh Ali Shah as he is under investigation by the National Accountability Bureau.
Therefore, the Government of Punjab had requested to withdraw the nomination of Syed Farrukh Ali Shah seeking permission to furnish a fresh nomination for the post of member (Punjab) NEPRA.
The request has been allowed by the Prime Minister, the PM House said.
