Rice prices fall sharply on grain market

Rice prices fell on the wholesale grain market on Tuesday in the process of modest trading, dealers said. On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type was down by Rs 25 to Rs 3125 and the good type fell by Rs 50 to Rs 3200, Basmati D-98 Shahdadkot lost Rs 200 to Rs 4800 and Rs 5000, basmati No 386 Red. Old dropped by Rs 300 to Rs 5500 and Rs 5800, they said.
On the cereals side, wheat new Bardan gained Rs 120 to Rs 3225, Guwar Sindh low type shed Rs 200 to Rs 4800 and the best quality was down by Rs 500 to Rs 4900, Guwar Punjab were lower by Rs 200 to Rs 4300-4500, the said. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake low type was unchanged at Rs 1400 and the best quality was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 1500, they said.
