HYDERABAD: In order to promote awareness about the hazards of the subsoil water and its use, the water and sanitation agency will organize lectures in the schools and colleges for the students.
The agency's spokesman Nadeem Yousuf announced this here on Thursday. Yousuf said that the students would also be explained how important the payment of the utility bills was so that the company could continue to provide efficient services to its consumers.
"The students will be encouraged to motivate their parents to pay the bills," he added announcing that prizes would be distributed among the children who succeeded in motivating their parents in that regard. In the first phase of the awareness campaign lectures would be organized in the government and private schools in collaboration with Director Schools Education, he told.
The WASA, he said, would impart knowledge about the health consequences of drinking water form earth boring. Yousuf said that the agency would assist the schools who would participate in that campaign by providing them with information technology tools in addition to the appreciation certificates and prizes.
