ISLAMABAD: Senior lawyer and PPP leader Dr Babar Awan called on President Asif Ali Zardari in the Presidency hours after the former's license was temporarily revoked by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday.
Awan was representing President Zardari in Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto reference case.
Sources said the two bigwigs discussed the situation rising from the apex court's decision to cancel Awan's license for law practice over his inappropriate behavior and derogatory remarks against the jury.
An 11-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, said ZAB reference case would remain suspended unless the federation appoints a new counsel in place of Dr Babar Awan.
