BEIJING: President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated the Chinese people and the government on the Spring Festival and the beginning of an auspicious Chinese New Year. "This Spring Festival ushers in the Year of Dragon which symbolize strength and development", said President Zardari in a message.
He further said," I wish the friendly people of China to scale new heights during this year and achieve even greater progress".
In an exclusive message to Chinese news agency Xinhua.net, President Zardari congratulated them for their initiative in highlighting the importance of this year and gathering friendly voices from all over the world in support of China's efforts to bring about international harmony.
He said that Xinhua.net was an important web portal and he was pleased to write to it. Over the past several years you have made special contributions to strengthening all-weather and time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China, he added.
China's biggest web portal, People's Daily Online, having 200 million hits every day, published the Chinese translation of this message along with the bio-data of President.
