LAHORE: The Punjab government given approval for extension in deployment of Rangers in the province for 60 days.

The summary for extension would be sent to the Interior Ministry for final approval.

Under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, Rangers were deployed in Punjab to carry out joint intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in specified areas.
