418 persons apprehended, 27 cases registered during Faizabad sit in, NA told

ISLAMABAD: A total of 418 persons had been apprehended and 27 cases were registered against various persons during Faizabad Sit in, State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry told National Assembly on Tuesday.

Responding to a Calling Attention Notice moved by Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Eng Hamid-ul-Haq, he said the challans of some cases had also been submitted in the relevant courts.     12 cases have been filed under anti terrorism act.

He said the main reason of observing sit in was a unanimous bill passed by the National Assembly.

In some cases, challans had already been submitted while accused were still in jail and their cases were in various courts. Some cases were in superior courts. The matter is sub judice.
