ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has felicitated senior journalist Arif Nizami on his election as President of Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE), Jabbar Khattak as General Secretary and other elected representatives. She said CNPE was trustee of the glorious journalistic traditions in the country.
In her message of felicitation, Marriyum Aurangzeb said CPNE had played an effective role to strengthen democracy, safeguard journalistic values and make people conscious of their rights.
She said the government would extend full cooperation to CPNE for freedom of media and promotion of quality journalism.
She expressed the hope that the newly elected office bearers would come up to the expectations of the journalistic community for improvement in the field of journalism and welfare of the media industry.
