PESHAWAR: The prominent Ulema and Muftis of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have decided to observe commencement of Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr as per the announcement of the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee.
The announcement to this effect was made at a meeting held at Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak under the headship of Naib Mufti Abdul Munium and attended by Shiekhul Hadit, Maulana Saeedullah Shah and Naib Mufti Darul Afta Jamia Imdadul Uloom Peshawar Sadr Mufti Subhanullah Jan, Maulana Asadullah, Sheikhul Hadit Mufti Matiurrehman, Maulana Abdur Rahim of Jamia Alnoor, Mufti Noor Badshah of Parachinar, former Dean Sheikh Zaid Islamic Departmetn University Prof. Dr Dost Muhammad, Mufti Hassan Jan of Charsadda and large number of Ulema.
Addressing the meeting Maulana Abdul Munium said only a Muslim state, its ruler or an authorized body of the state was entitled to announce commencement of Ramadan and Eid according to the Islamic. Shariah.
He said the authorized person of the Islamic state has the status of a Sharai Qazi and his decision in this regard must be considered as final.
He said in the light of research and Fatwa of prominent contemporary Ulema of Pakistan and Deoband and other countries, the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee was the lone and authorized body to announce commencement of Ramadan and Eid as per the norms of Shariah.
He further said that announcing commencement of Ramadan and Eid in personal capacity was against the Shariah and might cause harm to the country’s integrity.
