ISLAMABAD: Due to boom in sale of smart phones risk of fake, replica mobile sets of leading brands also increased in the market that causes big lose for the mobile set buyer.

Mobile Markets are full with Fake Phones and mobiles are being sold as original even with Branded tags next to it the replica phones are kept in the market that looks similar to the original phone.

A mobile shop keeper Adnan Hayat said, Always ask for 12 months warranty certificate from the phone manufacturers; never trust on an oral agreement with the seller and fake phones come with a short warranty periods as counterfeiters cannot give guarantee it will last so long.

He said, fake mobile sets always have dull colours, screen size, quality of printing and paint finish, Fake built quality difference in weight, logos, location of buttons and battery, missing functions, quality control and holograms and lack of quality.

Some people take phones home without testing it first." Some dealers make you fool and encourage this, knowing the handset is fake."

One should observe some points of low performance or other issues such as memory which was cheap quality photos, he added.

A smart phone buyer Ali Tahir said, "I have been deceived twice by the shop keeper, as he charged me the original price of the iphone 6 but later I had realize the quality was not as good as per the standard of iphone."

It is a fact that the buyers get deceived by shrewd shopkeepers when they sell refurbished and repainted items at much higher rates.

The issue is not only limited to mobile phones but other electronic items such LCD, LED, television, air conditioner are also being replicated in several famous electronic markets of Pakistan.

The retailers and consumer are requested only to buy official products by the company’s authorized shops.

Concerned authorities should take action against the culprits who are assembling duplicate smart phones and replicating other electronic devices in the country and punish the people involved in it.
