LAHORE: The Punjab government will spend Rs 240 million for constructing public toilets in the metropolis.
According to an official document, the government has started 'Toilets Programme' after the public demand was raised from various platforms.
The scheme was approved in Sept 2017, while the technical permission was granted by the Chief Engineer Buildings, Communication and Works (C&W) Department.
The areas where the toilets would be constructed include: Lorry Adda, Vegetable & Fruit Market, Allama Iqbal Town, Nadra office, Kareem Block Market, Cantt Kutcheri, Bara Dari ground, Dayal Pul, Raiwind Road, and Basti Mela Ram.
Official sources at Communication and Works Department told APP that all facilities would be available at the public toilets including hand drier, sui-gas geysers etc.
