Transgender person tortured, shot dead in Peshawar

A transgender person was shot dead by two unidentified suspects in the Kalu Khan area of Swabi district on Sunday.

According to Trans Action Pakistan, Sheena, an Afghan transgender was heartlessly tortured and was then shot five times. This murder makes it the 56th murder of a transgender person in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2015.

On March 27, a transgender person and her male friend were shot dead by unidentified people in Peshawar while traveling on a rickshaw. On January 22,  a transgender who was advocating for the rights of the transgender community was kidnapped and then gang-raped by at least nine people.
