ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Anusha Rahman on Thursday said 150 modern computer labs have been established in Women Empowerment Centers across the country to facilitate girls from marginalized sections of society.

At these Centres, the girls are learning latest techniques of coding and cloud computing through Microsoft, she said this while talking to a delegation of High Court Bar, Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench.

Besides, Hassan Raza Pasha and Ms Hifza Bukhari, other newly elected office bearers of High Court Bar Association were also part of the delegation.

"We are establishing latest computer labs in 226 girls schools of Islamabad Capital Territory. Besides, we are focusing on under served /un-served areas to provide 3G connectivity throughout the country including Balochistan and FATA where even landline connectivity was not available," she said.

She congratulated newly-elected office-bearers and said lawyers have an important role in justice system and provision of justice to a common man on daily basis. "I always feel proud to be a part of legal fraternity," Anusha Rahman said.

Anusha Rehman shared some key initiatives of her ministry for development of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) and said present government got national and international recognition while three international awards were conferred upon us on highly transparent spectrum auctions, Telecom policy and global achiever awards on "ICT for Girls" programme.

The delegates appreciated Minister's initiative in arena of ICT and asked her to initiate an ICT training programme for young lawyers which the latter acceded instantly and directed the concerned authorities.

Ameena Sohail, Member Legal MoIT, Nasir Ayyaz, Director Legal MoIT and other senior officials from Ministry were also present in the meeting.
