ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Javaid Abbasi Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan had changed his stance many times during Senate elections.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said his party had also given votes to PPP candidate in the elections which exposed his dual standards.

He said, Chairman Senate was symbol of federation and PML-N wanted to hold the seat to be held by a person who can represent all units of the federation in a appropriate manner.

The PML-N had announced its support to Mian Raza Rabbani for Chairman Senate position as he had enjoyed respect of the upper house during previous term.

He said Balochistan was also a province of the country, however, added that it was first time that political parties with majority in the house, could not bring their candidate.

Javaid Abbasi said Imran Khan had also talked about horse-trading in Senate elections and announced to hold inquiry into the matter.

He said all political parties had committed mistakes in the past however it was now time move ahead. The senator said forming a political party was fundamental right of every citizen of the country.

To a question, he said it was responsibility of political parties to form caretaker setup with consensus.
