Iran brands opposition followers 'anti-revolutionary'

TEHRAN: A top Iranian judiciary official warned on Tuesday that anybody who follows the opposition leaders will now be treated as an "anti-revolutionary”.” If someone listens to the call of the seditionists today, that person is anti-revolutionary and should be treated as an anti-revolutionary," Iran's prosecutor general Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie said. "Whoever wants to support the sedition leaders will be looked upon as anti-revolutionary and will not be tolerated," Mohseni Ejeie was quoted as saying by Fars news agency. He said the line of distinction was now clear between followers of the revolution and those against it, but added that those who return to the regime's fold after apologies should be accepted. In recent days Iranian officials have issued strong warnings to backers of opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi who have rebelled against the Islamic regime. Their supporters staged an anti-government protest in Tehran on February 14 and attempted to repeat the same on Sunday but a massive security presence prevented them from holding any large scale demonstrations. Mousavi and Karroubi are under complete house arrest, according to their websites.
