Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Sports and renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, died on Monday in the US, Aaj News reported. He was 67. Dr Shah was undergoing a process of chemotherapy at a hospital in Houston, Texas, where he suffered a massive heart attack, which proved fatal. He was born in Bareilly, UP.
Dr Shah was elected member of Sindh Assembly in 2008 general elections from PS 103 constituency on MQM's ticket and served as provincial minister for sports but he resigned as member Sindh Assembly for possessing dual nationality. Later, he was appointed as adviser to Sindh chief minister on sports. Dr Shah also served as member Pakistan Cricket Board. He was a recipient of President's Pride of Performance‚ Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Dr Shah will be laid to rest in Karachi.
