Pakistan former captain and legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis has expressed his desire to take the complete Pakistan Super League (PSL) back to the country by next year.

The fast bowler, who is the bowling coach and director cricket by Pakistan Super League franchise Islamabad United, was of the view that the law and order situation in the country has improved. He believes that the upcoming playoffs and final to be played in Lahore and Karachi is a proof of things getting better.

“PSL should be going back to Pakistan by next year. Things have improved in Pakistan and that is why this year we are already having a few games there,” said Younis, quoted Gulf News

Bazid Khan, Pakistan's former international cricketer-turned-commentator, too expressed similar intentions, saying that once the T20 tournament goes to Pakistan, things will change for the good.

“I think the main goal must be to take this tournament back to Pakistan. It will be a massive thing. We have staged the final there and this year we are staging more games and next year we should have even more games there," he said.

Khan further said, "Once the league goes to Pakistan, you will see it total different. Just imagine Lahore and Karachi match being played in Lahore there will be so much following. I think for the league to develop and get bigger, it has to go to Pakistan.”

PSL franchises Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi have already arrived in Pakistan for the first eliminator on Tuesday at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The finals of the Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament will be held in Karachi at National Stadium, on Sunday (March 25).
