Indian banks borrow $57.76mn via RBI MSF on Dec. 26

reserveMUMBAI: Indian banks borrowed 3.05 billion Indian rupees ($57.76 million) through the Reserve Bank of India's marginal standing facility (MSF) on Dec. 26, sharply down from 93.30 billion rupees borrowed on Dec. 23, the RBI said on Tuesday, a sign that tightness in liquidity conditions was easing.

The deficit in the banking system stood at 1.428 trillion rupees on Dec. 26, far above the Reserve Bank of India's comfort level of about 600 billion rupees.
