ZONG Pakistan has contributed immensely to the overall growth of the industry as more than 50 percent of the total number of net addition to the subscribers' base in 2011. This was revealed in press conference held in connection with a programme to celebrate the company's achievements during the year 2011.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Marketing Usman Ishaq said the company has decided to share its success with stakeholders by rewarding them through one of its kind scheme named Wheel for all 2011. As part of this scheme ZONG is awarding 150 franchisees to have achieved sales targets with Suzuki cars. In the history of Pakistan, this is the first time that a company has decided to honour every accomplishing franchisee by giving away rewards of such huge amount, he added.
During the year 2011, ZONG - the digital partner of Pakistani people, attained unprecedented success and was able to add 10 million users to its subscriber's base. Also, Pakistan's telecom industry witnessed a huge number of subscribers migrating from one network to another. A total number of 5.6 million mobile users used the Mobility Network Portability (MNP) service to shift to their preferred service provider. ZONG left all other operators behind in net users gain.
This remarkable growth is largely attributed to the sales team of the telecom company who has been working closely with 273 franchises. Out of these, 150 franchises were able to achieve their sales target and they are now being rewarded for their contribution to the tremendous accomplishment of ZONG, he added. Director Sales and Distribution Zahir Shah said that ZONG has now become the digital partner of people's life in Pakistan as we are not only offering amazing call rates, but are also providing unique data services. This has augmented the trust which our users have in ZONG and we will continue to strive for excellence. ZONG has been able to reach 145 percent of total SIM activations target, 114 percent of recharge loading target and 107 percent of recharge issuance target during the year 2011. Its aggressive selling strategies in conjunction with synergized teamwork have aided the company in over achieving all budgeted targets set for the year.
