Smeda holds awareness session on ERKF

Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) held orientation session at Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) to extend benefits of Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) funded project of 'Economic Revitalisation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata to women entrepreneurs.
The SME Development component of ERKF project is being implemented by Smeda in all districts of KP and Agencies/FRs of Fata. The awareness seminar was attended by more than 20 women entrepreneurs associated to different businesses. The Project Manager ERKF, Sarmad Hussein Khan briefed the participants about the salient features of MTDF project, and filing of application procedure for grant scheme.
Explaining the aims and objectives of the project, Sarmad said that the programme would be beneficial for recovery of war-ravaged economy and businesses of the province. He urged the women entrepreneurs to take full benefits of the programme. In response to a question, he said that 3 per cent quota of the fund is reserved for women entrepreneurs. Under the project, he informed that grants would be extended to revive business affected by crises.
He further said that the ERKF had formally launched a campaign to facilitate the business community for availing the benefits of scheme for revival of their businesses that were earlier affected by militancy and flood. The project manager, ERKF also explained about eligibility criteria, application procedure, complaint redressal and other essential steps for the grants.
