The Deputy Head of the Department of International Development (DFID) of Great Britain in Pakistan, Jane Edmondson accompanied by her Advisor, Rosemary Knight called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar at Governor House, Peshawar on Thursday.
She remained with the Governor for some time and discussed matters concerning role and contribution of DFID in development of KP and FATA. The update on progress on new development plans of the organisation particularly the programme in support of post-crisis needs assessment for the militancy-hit areas of the province and FATA came under discussion and the Governor appreciated the keen interest of DFID in this respect.
KP Governor was informed that the DFID have approved 30 million pounds for the programme. While apprising the guests about the prevailing situation, the Governor also highlighted the overwhelming efficient and positive response of the FATA people towards the political reforms in the area.
