Power shortfall dropped by 1000MW due to short supply of fuel from the Pakistan State Oil (PSO), said sources. Sources said power shortfall dropped to 9500MW from 10500MW during last 24 hours. It may be noted that power shortfall had improved substantially to around 11000MW couple of days earlier against a demand of about 12000MW.
Accordingly, power supply to a few segments, particularly the industry, reduced to manage the load on domestic front but still some residential areas registered load shedding during the day. It is learnt on good authority that power supply to industrial sectors in different Power Distribution companies (DISCOs), but not the LESCO, is being managed through load shedding. So much so, exemption to some industrial sectors has also been withdrawn to meet domestic demand. Pepco sources have expressed the hope that power shortage would be met soon after supply from the PSO.
