Prices fell on the wholesale grain market on Monday as supply position from the upcountry centres was good, dealers said. On the cereal side wheat old and new (Bardan) shed Rs 10 to Rs 2650-2665, other items maintained overnight levels in process of trading, they said.
On the grams sector guwar Sindh and Punjab gained Rs 300 to Rs 10800-10900, and bajra low type dropped Rs 50 to Rs 2300 while the best type retained the weekend level, they said. Only one change was witnessed on the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type did not move any side at Rs 2300 while the good type shed Rs 25 to Rs 3125, they said. On the counter til dropped Rs 100 to Rs 3100-3500, cottonseeds oilcake with bag inferior quality was inert at Rs 550 while the good type appreciated by Rs 50 to Rs 700, they said.
