Eid Milad-un-Nabi today

The nation celebrates Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious reverence and fervour on Sunday (today) with a pledge to follow the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The day will begin with special prayers for the progress, prosperity and integrity of the country and unity amongst the Muslim Ummah.
Special security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order across the country on the occasion of 12th Rabi-ul-Awal, as Eid Milad processions are being taken out from every nook and cranny of the country. On this occasion, newspapers publish special supplements while television channels and radio air special programmes.
All major government and private buildings, residential and commercial plazas, markets, mosques, roundabouts and even houses have been tastefully decorated. Public meeting and Mahafil-e-Milad would be held in different parts of the provincial metropolis, while faithful actively participate in the programmes organised by different local, religious and social organisations. Na'at and the Holy Quran reciting competitions would be held throughout the day in almost every nook and cranny of the country to revive the real spirit of Islam and offer respect to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Special security arrangements would be in Lahore and other cities and towns across the country to avoid any untoward incident. Participants of Mahafil would be properly verified and checked by security personnel. Special Milad processions would be taken out from different areas of twin cities, reciting Na'ats and Darood-o-Salaam for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Congregations would be organised in all cities of the country where the preachers and scholars highlight the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) besides delivering lectures on his way of life. For faithful, Eid Milad-un-Nabbi (SAW) is a highly regarded religious festival when they express gratitude and thank to Allah Almighty for blessing the universe with His last messenger and Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Details It may be mentioned here that renewing their devout and resolute pledge on peace, amity, brotherhood and affinity towards humankind, Muslims across the world celebrate the auspicious Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth day of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal with religious fervour, devotion and solemnity.
In Pakistan it will be a public holiday. All offices and institutions shall remain closed with the national Flag waving atop buildings, all-over the country. Besides religious assemblages and processions in every town and city of the country, which will be brought out by the faithful, Seerat Conferences and Mahfil-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) shall be held, highlighting all the significant features of the sacred day.
In the provincial capital, shopping centres, government and semi-government buildings like Wapda House, Punjab Assembly, CM Secretariat, Pakistan Railways Headquarters and key public places have been tastefully decorated with twinkling lights on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). Several programmes have been organised on the night between 11 and 12 Rabiul Awwal as well including the torch-bearing processions.
People in many cities of the country shall organise Na'at Khwani gatherings on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). Seerat conferences will also organise at the provincial headquarters and at the divisional and district levels by eminent Ulema and Mashaikh. Various religious, social and cultural organisations will hold programmes of Milad Mahafil and Seerat congregations where speakers shall highlight all aspects of the life and Teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
All the government and private buildings, mosques and streets have been decorated with lights, green flags, colourful buntings and banners welcoming the sacred day - Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). Sweets will also be distributed among people at orphanages, widow and destitute homes, disabled and handicapped person homes and among prisoners.
The newspapers and magazines shall bring out special issues while the electronic media shall broadcast/telecast special programmes highlighting the significance of the day. With rest of the vicinities in the province, Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) will be celebrated in Lahore the provincial metropolis with great enthusiasm and religious fervour. The day shall dawn with 21-gun salute in the Punjab capital where special prayers were offered at major city mosques for the integrity and solidarity of Pakistan and liberation of all occupied territories.
A number of processions will be taken out from various corners of the city under the auspicious social and religious organisations. They will pay glowing tributes to the Last Prophet (PBUH) and reciting "Naat" and Darood-o-Salaam all along traditional routes leading to the end point at Data Darbar where special "Dua"(Prayers) will be offered on the occasion. Special poetic sessions will be additional hallmark on the occasion with poets belonging to Lahore along with guests from different parts of the country and other parts of the world heralding the advent of Islam under the guidance of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
