Petition seeks judges' appointment

A petition before the Lahore High Court has been filed seeking directions for appointments of judges in Environment, Drug, Customs and Banking courts. The petitioner, a Bar member, Noshab A Khan contended in his petition that all the four courts are awaiting for the appointment of the judges for last two and more months. He said a large number of the cases pending for disposal in accordance with the law.
He said the government was responsible for appointment of the judges after consultation of Chief Justice but respondent government even after lapse of more than two months failed to appoint the judges.
