Petition filed against PU vice chancellor re-appointment

The Lahore High Court issued notice to Governor Punjab and Secretary Higher Education in a petition challenging reappointment of Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran as Vice Chancellor of Punjab University.
Professor Dr Yousuf Hayat who was also one of the contenders for the slot of university's vice chancellor filed this petition and stated that the reappointment of Kamran was not only a violation of Punjab University Act but also violation of Supreme Court judgement against reemployment of retired persons. He said the respondent had already completed his term as VC. He urged the court to take notice of this illegality immediately.
