The root cause of the crimes like torture on women and children, `Karokari' and sectarian target killings is illiteracy and ignorance. This was stated by the Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wasan, here on Wednesday. He directed the concerned officials that awareness be fostered to tackle such crimes.
The minister also asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) that assistance be sought for the educated segments of the society like doctors, engineers, Ulema, journalists, artists and others to chalk out an effective strategy to curb such crimes and other social ills. He further directed that stern action be taken against those involved in criminal activities. Wassan directed the DIGs in the province to chalk out necessary strategies for their respective areas.
