Following the killings on Tuesday of two activists of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ), formerly banned Sipah Sahabah Pakistan (SSP), the police have nominated three persons in this dual murder case. According to Risala SHO Arif Hussain Shah, the case was registered on the complaint of victim's brother Shahid against three persons namely Tanveer Abbas, Waseem Hyder and Muhammad Mehdi.
He said the affiliations of these nominated persons have so far not been identified while the case (12/12) was registered under sections 302/34 after sit-in protest staged by ASWJ workers at Maripur Road. The protesters, who chanted slogans against the said killings, demanded to nominate the aforesaid persons in this dual murder case.
Later, funeral prayers of Mohammad Ali alias Mama, legal advisor of ASWJ, were offered at Maripur Road and then he was buried in Okhai Memon graveyard, Moach Goth. Similarly, the sacrament of another ASWJ worker Muhammad Noman was performed at Pathan Masjid Musa Lane and later was interred at Bhorapir graveyard.
