Drug reaction case: SHO asked to submit his comments

Additional District and Sessions Judge, Lahore, Arif Hameed Sheikh on Monday directed the SHO Shadman to submit his comments by January 27, in an application seeking registration of case against a company allegedly involved in manufacturing drug that resulted in the deaths of 32 people. The petitioner made Pakistan Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Medical Superintendent, Secretary of Health Department and others as respondents.
The petitioner Ahmad Raza, submitted that 32 people died in the city due to reaction of the cardiac drug, manufactured by a local company. He contended that neither the health department nor the doctors of PIC bothered to check the medicine which caused deaths to many people including his beloved one Kareem Sultan. He said that when he approached the concerned police station, the SHO refused to entertain his application. The petitioner therefore prayed to the court to direct the SHO to register an FIR against the accused.
