Rates moved both ways against dollar on currency market on Monday, dealers said. The rupee was marginally low as compared with the last week's closing. The rupee lost five paisa for buying and closing at 90.17 and 90.20.
INTERBANK MARKET: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee gained 25 paisa for buying and 40 paisa for selling at 90.15 and 90.20, they said. The rupee was also higher against euro as it gained 14 paisa for buying and selling at 116.21 and 116.71, they added.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee opened on a negative sign and lost 10-paisa against the US dollar in the local currency market on Monday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading at its Saturday closing of Rs 90.20 and Rs 90.60 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. The dollar witnessed fresh demand that helped its appreciation in the open market. At the end of trading, the dollar closed higher at Rs 90.30 and Rs 90.70 on buying and selling sides, respectively, the dealers said.
However, the rupee showed stability on buying side while it was declined by 20-paisa on selling side in relation to the pound sterling. The pound was traded at Rs 140.00 and Rs 140.80 on buying and selling counters as compared to previous closing of Rs 140.00 and Rs 140.60, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs 89 (buying) and Rs 89.20 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 89 (buying) and Rs 89.20 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 138 (buying) and Rs 138.90 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 138 (buying) and Rs 138.90 (selling).
