Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, has called for devising a comprehensive security strategy on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). A police statement here on Sunday said the IGP also directed that the security should be on high alert. He maintained that necessary steps should be taken in this regard at all the districts and police stations.
The police chief said that strict security measures needed to be taken for `Naatia Mehfils,' Melad gatherings and the main processions in consultations with the religious leaders. He also called for preparing contingency plans at the Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur police ranges. The IGP directed that there should be an adequate deployment of special branch personnel as well as the bomb disposal squads.
