USC's performance reviewed

A two-day zonal managers' conference of Utility Stores Corporation was held here, in which senior management of the corporation along with 10 zonal managers participated. The conference was aimed at examining the overall performance of the corporation and taking concrete steps to further enhance its business and profitability.
Managing Director of the Corporation, Major General Malik Muhammad Farooq (Retd), who presided over the conference, took detailed briefing from all zonal managers and issued instructions for the betterment and reforms of the corporation. The reforms included betterment/promotion of sales, providing grocery items' huge quantities, computerisation of warehouses, opening of new stores especially mega stores, availability of items at lesser rates with many other reforms to improve the financial health of the USC.
The MD said in the light of the efforts and vision of Senior Federal Minister for Production, Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi that the corporation is a public institution and its purpose is to provide quality items under one roof. The MD urged zonal mangers to provide maximum facilities to customers and there should not be any laxity in procurement of standard and quality items. He said vigilance and audit teams have started checking stores in different zones and regions to curb black marketing, local purchase and overcharging, adding that if someone is found guilty in such cases, strict disciplinary and legal action will be taken against him. He appreciated overall performance of zonal managers and said that the corporation can be made a model institution of international standard with your extra efforts and attention.-PR
