All out efforts will be made to provide Community Centres in different localities of rural area through Public Private Partnership, so that community welfare activities could be formalised and carried out from these centres. Our strategy and focus should be to work with the marginalized community and identify and solve the problems they face.
This was stated by Secretary Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD), Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, while inaugurating Free Medical General Camp organised at Punjgran, Ali Pur Farash, Islamabad to provide free medical services to the community.
In view of increasing viral diseases due to hard cold weather, the Rural Community Development Centre (RCDC) Punjgran working under Directorate General of Social Welfare and Social Education organised this Free General Medical Camp.
A large number of patients suffering with eye diseases were examined and free cataract operations were carried out. Free optical glasses have also been provided to such patients. Screening of Hepatitis (B&C) were also done beside distribution of free medicine to the patients suffering from different diseases. The team of expert Doctors, Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Speech therapists etc was available for the facilitation of poor patients.
The Secretary lauded the efforts of RCDC, Directorate General of Special Education & Social Welfare & City Lions Club Islamabad.
On this occasion the D.G, Special Education & Social Welfare, Syed Mustafain Kazmi assured that social services and facilitation to poor community will continue in collaboration with Civil Society organisation. He emphasised on more active role of Civil Society organisations and appealed the major organisations and enterprises to fulfil their corporate social responsibilities. The President City Lions Club, Islamabad Dr. Masood Ghani and Social Welfare Officer Raabia Jehangir also spoke on the occasion. The Secretary CA&DD gave away shields to officials, Social workers and activists on their outstanding support in organising the medical camp as well.-PR
