The rupee maintained its recovery against dollar on the money market on Wednesday, money experts said. The rupee rose by 8-paisa versus the greenback for buying at 89.97 and gained 10-paisa for selling at 90.00, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee also gained 10-paisa in terms of dollar for buying at 90.70 and up 20-paisa for selling at 91.00, they said.
The rupee appreciated by 31-paisa in terms of euro for buying and selling at Rs 115.31 and Rs 115.79, they said. In the third Asian trade euro fell against dollar and floundered near a record low versus the Australian dollar in cautious trade a day ahead of a European Central Bank policy meeting and debt sales from Spain.
The euro stood at $1.2738, down 0.3 percent from late US trade on Tuesday, having bounced off a 16-month trough at $1.2666 set on Monday on trading platform EBS. Resistance is seen at the overnight high around $1.2820, a level representing the 38.2 percent retracement of the January 3 to 9 decline. The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 51.72, it was also available at 3.1425 versus the Malaysian Ringgit and the dollar was available at 6.319 in terms of Chinese yuan, adds Reuters.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee recovered some of its earlier loss and gained 30-paisa against the dollar in the local currency market on Wednesday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar remained under pressure and was declined to Rs 91.00 and Rs 91.50, as its buying and selling rates against the overnight closing of Rs 91.30 and Rs 91.80, respectively.
The rupee-pound parity remained unchanged amid low trading turnover in the open market. The pound was purchased and sold at its Tuesday closing of Rs 140.00 and Rs 140.80, respectively, dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar remained firm against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 89 (buying) and Rs 89.20 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 89 (buying) and Rs 89.20 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 138 (buying) and Rs 138.90 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 138 (buying) and Rs 138.90 (selling).
