Middle class and low income group: 'government endeavouring to provide residential facilities to people'
The government is endeavouring to provide land to the middle class and low income group people on easy terms with the initiation of various housing schemes. This was stated by Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, here on Saturday. The Governor was speaking on the occasion of a briefing given by the Advocate General Sindh Employees Housing Society at the Governor House here.
He pointed out that in the past several of the housing schemes could not take off because of the then policies and the people could not get the facilities which they were looking for.
Dr Ishrat said that it is his desire that the old schemes should be revived and in addition to that new schemes should also be initiated so that more and more people could get the housing facilities. He pointed out that the Advocate General Sindh Employees Co-operative Society had requested for initially 25 acres of land which he enhanced to 50 acres keeping in view the future needs so that applicants in the time ahead could also be accommodated.
The Governor said that this housing scheme is considered as a successful one because of lot of area has been allotted.
The moving spirit behind the scheme, Qazi Khalid Ali, also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Governor Sindh for extending assistance in removing the hurdles in the way of the scheme.
Director General Lyari Development Scheme, Agha Masood, said that the Authority has quickly completed the outer development of the scheme and the remaining would also be completed soon.
