Asif Bajwa has been appointed Secretary Planning Commission of Pakistan and would assume the charge on Monday, it is learnt. Asif Bajwa was working as Secretary Statistics Division before his new assignment. According to the Sources, Sohail Ahmed Secretary Narcotics Division will replace Aisf Bajwa as Secretary Statistics Division.
The sources said that earlier Javeed Mehmood was working as Secretary Planning Commission. He was punctual, hardworking and never compromised on discipline. He was also against the appointment of retired government officials on major positions with handsome salary packages. The sources further revealed that he developed some differences with the members of Planning Commission adding that he suddenly left on three months' leave after which the post became vacant. When contacted Deputy Chairman Planning Commission of Pakistan Nadeem-ul-Haq confirmed the appointment of Asif Bajwa as new Secretary Planning Commission and he would resume the charge on Monday.
