Department of Livestock Production, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, is holding an institutional capacity building seminar and workshop on "Genetic Improvement and Fertility Enhancement in Livestock through Clinical Cytogenetics", at its Ravi Campus, Pattoki on 10th January which will run until 11th January.
The function has been sponsored by Higher Education Commission wherein renowned animal geneticists and breeding experts from UVAS and other universities will deliver their lectures followed by a half day training workshop to veterinary officers from the directorate of breed improvement, departments of livestock & dairy development, Punjab. The veterinary professionals will learn about how to identify genetic abnormalities in cattle, buffalo and sheep and goats in Punjab and that how can they report such cases to their respective directorates.
Eminent scientist, Professor A.R. Shakoori and secretary livestock and dairy development, Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh, will be the chief-guests on the first and second days of workshop and seminar. Director General Extension, Dr Irfan Zahid will be the guest of honour on this occasion.
