Showing the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood the students and staff of Dawood Public School have donated Rs 0.2 million for the flood victims of interior Sindh on Friday, as part of their regular fund raising for different charitable causes as well as for climatic destructions.
A spokesperson of the school said that the amount was handed over to social worker and horticulturist, Taufiq Pasha, of Hissar Foundation. Students and staff of Dawood Public School collected this amount for flood affectees through self-donations and a bake sale organised in the school. The students also handed over the warm clothes that they had collected for the flood affectees.
Dawood Public School spokesperson said that though its a little contribution from students but it speaks volumes about their commitment and concern for the humankind. Students initiated this campaign themselves and agreed that they should help the people affected by floods in Sindh and all our students contributed generous donations.
Pasha praised the efforts and gesture of the students and School management and said that they had set up a goal and achieved it. He said that the amount collected did not matter but what mattered was the spirit and efforts behind it. Pasha suggested that the students should form a social service group and work for the people of Pakistan.-PR
