The Provincial government has approved Rs 417 million for the upgradation of district headquarters hospital (DHQ) teaching hospital. This was disclosed by DCO Azmat Mehmood in a meeting held here on Thursday which was attended by SE Building Mukhtar Khokhar, Exen Building Shahid Mehmood, EDO Health Dr Habib Ahmed and MS Dr Naeem Ahmed Shaikh.
The DCO said that for the construction of new building of DHQ and for the demolition of old offices, residences of EDO, Director Health and other hospital buildings, directions have been issued for inviting tenders through news papers. He directed the building department for starting work on the project immediately so that it could be completed by the end of June 2013. He further directed for shifting the offices of EDO health, director health and other related offices in the premises of DHQ hospital.
The Exen building told the meeting that hospital building would be completed in four stages and Rs 100 million had been released for first phase under which four blocks including ENT, Neuro Surgery ICU, CSSD, Admin Block, Cardiology Ward, Dialysis Block, Operation Theatre and Emergency Ward would be constructed.
