Vice Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG) and former President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Haroon Farooki has been appointed as member of the Board of Trustees of Karachi Port Trust (KPT). Federal Ministry of Ports and Shipping has notified the reconstitutedBoard of Trustees of KPT for a period of two years on December 28, 2011.
Chairman, Businessmen Group and former President-KCCI, Siraj Kassam Teli, former presidents KCCI, Tahir Khaliq, Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Anjum Nisar, President KCCI Mian Abrar Ahmad, Senior Vice President Younus Muhammad Bashir, Vice President Zia Ahmed Khan, members Managing Committee KCCI have felicitated Haroon Farooki on his appointment as member of KPT's Board of Trustees.
They also congratulated Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani and Federal Minister for Ports & Shipping Babar Ghouri for appointing Haroon Farooki as member Board of Trustee of KPT. They stated that Haroon Farooki has a rich experience and deep insight about the economic and commerce affairs of Pakistan and hoped that he will extend his best productive input to streamline the affairs and activities of Karachi Port Trust.
Meanwhile, Haroon Farooki in a press statement conveyed his deep gratitude and compliments to the prime minister, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping and the Leadership of BMG for reposing their confidence in him by nominating him as trustee of KPT. He assured his best possible co-operation and support to the Chairman/ Chairperson KPT and colleague members to achieve the desired objectives.-PR
