Former President and APML Chief Pervez Musharraf has felicitated the people of Pakistan on advent of the new year. In his message the former President said that while welcoming the New Year, Pakistanis should not forget the sacrifices of the martyrs who have kept the country's flag flying high. "I pray for those who sacrificed their lives to protect our country and the victims of the devastating floods who still need our support in this hour of trial."
Commenting on the international flash points, Pervez Musharraf hoped for solutions of the long-standing issues that have affected the Muslim world for the past decades. "I hope the New Year will bring a solution of the Kashmir issue so that the sufferings and sacrifices of our Kashmiri brethren are recognised and they can live in peace and harmony. I also pray for the solution of the Afghanistan and Palestine issues so that the Islamic Ummah could emerge stronger and move forward to a dynamic future."
