Granting of development funds: opposition MPAs make hue and cry over in Punjab Assembly

The Punjab Assembly's 32nd session held here on Thursday in which the agenda could not be maintained due to death of MPA Amir Hayat Khan Rokri. However, PPP Opposition leader and other members of opposition benches made a vociferous agitation in the House for granting of development funds.
They said Rana Sanaullullah had promised to give them development funds within seven days in December 20 meeting. However this promise could not be fulfilled, they observed. They warned that they should be given funds within four days otherwise they would go out for 'Dharna'
Law Minister getting irritated on agitational mood of the opposition benches said that getting development fund was prerogative of the CM Punjab and they would not get anything by wrong tactics. Speaker Rana Iqbal trying to calm down the situation called both Rana Sanaullah and Raja Riaz in his chamber. He also asked Rana Sanaullah to put before him reports of the concerned DCO's regarding constituencies development funds. The Chair later adjourned the House for 9:00 am Friday (today).
