The Punjab government has on Wednesday distributed keys of 204 model houses among the flood-hit victims at Rajanpur and Mianwali. Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Zakiya Shahnawaz and Member Provincial Assembly Sardar Atif Mizari handed over the keys of model houses to flood-hit people.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khalid Sherdil said that all facilities have been provided in these model villages constructed for flood hit victims. He said that model houses are being distributed to people in a transparent manner. He said that the Chief Minister Punjab is taking keen interest for rehabilitation of flood-hit victims and these model villages are the practical step of Punjab government to provide respectable shelter to shelter-less people.
According to him, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is giving top priority to provision of best facilities to flood affectees and protection of their future. These model villages will play important role in the promotion of social life and economy of the province.
Khalid Sherdil said that these model homes for the flood affectees have been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.55 billion. As many as 1885 homes have been constructed in 22 model villages of 7 flood-affected districts, he added. He said that these model villages are reflective of good governance of the government and its people friendly policies.
