The Ministry Of Religious Affairs would take stern action against Private Hajj Group Organisers (HGOs), who allegedly showed serious negligence in providing facilities to pilgrims and violated their agreements during Hajj-2011. This was stated by the spokesman of the ministry Hafiz Sher Ali talking to APP.
He said the Complaint Disposal Cell (CDC) of the Ministry has received complaints against 194 tour operators and 10 of them were found in sheer violation of the agreement. He said stern action would be taken against those who caused any inconvenience to pilgrims and their licences could be cancelled or quota for the next Hajj scheme could be curtailed.
Sher Ali informed that all the complaints have been sent to the concerned Hajj Directorates where formal hearings would be held in the presence of the complainants and the relevant HGOs. After which, a detailed report would be submitted to the Ministry for further action, he added. The CDC has closely been monitoring the working of HGOs throughout the period from beginning of the pre-Hajj operation and till culmination of the post-Hajj operation. Last year, the Ministry had received complaints against 40 HGOs and it canceled licences of two HGOs, who were found guilty after a thorough investigation.
