Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is sponsoring a world-class art exhibition featuring renowned French glass maker Jean Claude Novaro from November 25 to December 2 in Karachi. According to a Etihad Airways' spokesperson here on Thursday, Jean Claude Novaro's artistic creations will be exhibited in the Unicorn Gallery, one of the leading art galleries in Pakistan.
He is a celebrated artist famous for his distinctive art-glass creations. His work is prized by connoisseurs and displayed in museums and galleries all over the world. His name also appears in the Guinness Book of World Records for making the largest hand-blown coupe. This is the first time an artist of such global stature is exhibiting in Pakistan.
Amer Khan, Etihad Airways' Country Manager in Pakistan, said Etihad is very pleased to be the principal sponsor of this event. The promotion of art and cross-cultural events is an important feature of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philosophy at Etihad Airways; so they are proud to present Jean Claude Novaro to art enthusiasts throughout the country and hope this will enrich the art scene and open the door to artists from across the world to showcase their art in Pakistan."
Novaro expressed his delight, saying: "I always enjoyed travelling to show my work in Europe and America. I am very happy to see my art displayed in Pakistan. This is a great honour for me and I hope it will be the start of a long story between Etihad, this beautiful country and I."
